Mercy and Stefan Blood Bond
« on: February 11, 2015, 03:40:47 am »
What do you think about this bond with our favorite vampire?

I personally have the same opinion about this matter as Adam, when he said that she'll stay bonded only 'till she want to stay bonded...I know that he have talked like that when he was pretty upset for everything but it ringed like a true statement from him, not only a chip way to stay in position of power in front of the vampires at that moment

"Chip"?

To the best of knowledge by Stephan, and several other people with more-than-mortal lifespans, she's stuck.
Now, as a daughter of Coyote, she might bypass what they 'know', but I'm skeptical.

I recognize that it's not your first language, and like many "Eurogs" you have trouble with our ("Our" being the speakers of variations of English) daft language.
If you want help, let me know; if not, I'll stick to being third caveman in private and not say anything. :)

It occurred to me after I'd posted that 'cheap' was probably the word you meant, but thought I'd wait and see if you meant "apparently cheerful" instead.

I may send you some PMs later about "have" vs. "had" vs. "has", then.  That's the one that's sticking in my craw. ;)

It's a daft language, English.  I have people who grew up in it who don't get it, you're doing great.
But we're off topic.  I'll PM you later.

At first I thought it was permanent but then I remembered Coyote saying change the rules when she was trying to save Adam and the pack from the silver. Mercy doesn't generally fall under the same category as anybody else so there could be changes. So now I don't know.......

I believe Mercy can cut the blood bond if she really want to and try really hard. And if it doesn't work I believe Coyote will be happy to help her, with his opinion of vampires I don't think it will be hard to talk him into helping.  ;). Also in Night Broken Coyote said something about the Walking Stick being able to cut bonds. Maybe it can help Mercy if she needs to cut the blood bond.

However maybe Mercy don't have to cut the bond if Stefan understand to just stay friends with Mercy. Maybe the blood bond can end up saving Mercy and protect her from the bad people. bOuNcY

I don't really see any reason why Mercy would need to try and get rid on the blood bond.

As Adam said in Night Broken, it's been there for a while now, and Stefan has never used it except to help Mercy.

And if it's not causing problems, why worry about getting rid of it, especially when it seems that there's no easy or obvious way to do so, if it's even possible at all.

Really, it's actually advantageous for Mercy to keep the blood bond, because it allows her try and call Stefan in and/or communicate with him telepathically if she needs to, and more importantly, it blocks other vampires who might try to force their own blood bond on Mercy, like Blackwood did.

I'd tend to agree, Itsy-Cat; "if it ain't broke, don't fix it."

I don't like at all the open/blind spot that this blood bond give to Mercy...more than once Stefan have told her that vampires like Marsilia or Wulfe are strong enough to be able to take that bond and tie her to them trough him

for me it was clear at the end of Night Broken that mostly Stefan don't go back to his Seethe because he doesn't want to put Mercy in that kind of danger, also if him seems not opposed to the idea of forgive his mistress...I understand that right now the bond is all good but I think that is a dangerous kind of bond just the same because I don't think that Stefan have in himself to stay a solitary vampire for the rest of their existence, and the only thing that make Mercy now secure in this connection is that Stefan right now is not bonded to Marsilia

Okay... how about Stephan sets up his own Seethe?  Take over Spokane now the Monster's not there?  He's got that one guy who's on the verge of turning already...

That about Mercy make Stefan a pack member like with Joel. I think that will really send the werewolves into caos  LOL It also sound like something Mercy would do ;D Can you imagine a vampire in a pack of werewolves?
