Back in civilization
« on: December 19, 2014, 07:14:22 pm »
Hi everyone. Apparently I've been missed. I don't know why. Anyways, I'm finally back in civilization. My student loan ran out and I had to find a long term job. It was kind of a dream come true, really. I was offered a year contract working as what amounts to little more than a gofer for a team of social workers, health workers and teachers in a small vilage in a VERY remote region of the country. Their purpose there was to work with the San people. It was incredibly fascinating. My contract got renewed for a second year, but that was just about enough for me. I'm back in cicilization now, where people have access to modern tech. I've missed all of you, but my opportunities to get online were few and short. I'm happy to be back.
I'd rather enjoy life...besides, it costs nothing to smile!!!

Hi guys, I really am glad to be back, although I was hoping for something more than wet noodles. Patti, I know you sent me a lot of mails, just very rarely had a chance to check my mail and then only for limited times. Janilee, most San these days don't speak their own languages anymore, but insread they speak a form of Afrikaans. Where is the hang out?

http://www.hurog.com/forum/index.php?topic=7796.msg653768#new  Current thread.  As usual, Patti's Place is in "Forum Members Area, either just above or just below this "introduce yourself" area.  We're finishing up "The Year of the Mule", named after Bill's new rescue mule, Chex.
And he's not all that new now.

That was a fast cultural change. :-\
