Do you suppose horses can sense werewolves?

Might not be more than "this person smells scary!" though.

Perhaps Anna's omega nature would work on horses as well as werewolves.  (OK, I have to admit, that sent my brain to imagining Anna in one of those Disney scenarios where all the little forest creatures are doing her housework for her...)  But apparently omegas have some effect on humans, not just on werewolves, so perhaps other animals as well?

Yes, but humans and werewolves are very closely related. Plus there's the predator/prey division. Seems unlikely to me.

The blurb is up on the Penguin site here. Speculate away!

Quote
The Alpha and Omega novels transport readers into the realm of the werewolf, where Charles Cornick and Anna Latham embody opposite sides of the shifter personality. Now, a pleasure trip drops the couple into the middle of some bad supernatural business…

For once, mated werewolves Charles and Anna are not traveling because of Charles’s role as his father’s enforcer. This time, their trip to Arizona is purely personal, as Charles plans to buy Anna a horse for her birthday. Or at least it starts out that way…
Charles and Anna soon discover that a dangerous Fae being is on the loose, replacing human children with simulacrums. The Fae’s cold war with humanity is about to heat up—and Charles and Anna are in the cross fire.

O_o
We've had our toad for the 2020s, it's got to get better from here!
But do beware the toad burps.

O.K.

Arizona = Heat

Horses and racing = Dead Heat.

I wonder why they chose simulacrums rather than the usual changelings?

Not enough fae children on hand.

Heating up of cold war sounds ominous.

What kind of fae critter would be doing that?

I'm less interested in what kind than I am in why.

I am curious about both actually.
I wonder if it is part of a larger strategy or if it is some escaped critter.

Strategic placing of an army no one would expect?

Are the Fae now organized enough to create an Army? ???

One or two of them might be. It might not be the whole group.
