I've got a few of those, including the original version of "King Kobold" by Christopher Stasheff.
We've had our toad for the 2020s, it's got to get better from here!

 LOL LOL LOL

Antigravity book, you are poorly written, boring and full of opinions miss-labelled as facts.
There, I've put it down for you.

No Man's Land: A Novel ~Simon Tolkien

I am wowed. IMO Simon is right up there with Steinbeck, Tolstoy, Dumas, Verne, and Dickens. :-LOVE

So is it a doorstop like Tolstoy, Dumas, and Dickens, or a little leaner like Steinbeck and Verne?

I don't mean that they are only doorstops; just that they can be used for that purpose. Steinbeck and Verne, not so much, unless it's a very small door. I much prefer Steinbeck's nonfiction to his fiction, and would probably read any of the doorstops before reading TGOW again.

Grapes of Wrath is one of my all-time favorite novels. Hits the nail on the head. :)

It does; it's just not a comfort read for me. I love CANNERY ROW, SWEET THURSDAY, and TRAVELS WITH CHARLEY though.

Definitely not a comfort read, a get out and raise hell read.

There are so many books left that I need/want to read. :-\

So many books, so little time. There are T-shirts for that.

I've got one; it's getting ragged. So is the one with Groucho's comment about books and dogs.

Just finished reading 'Type & Cross' by J. L. Delozier, a story about tracking down the creator of a horrid plague. A single rogue, not a group or nation.
It's quickly inferred that the evil-doer is a synesthete, and I find that this was yesterday's Word of the Day from Dictionary.com:
synesthesia
noun [sin-uh s-thee-zhuh, -zhee-uh, -zee-uh]
1. a sensation produced in one modality when a stimulus is applied to another modality, as when the hearing of a certain sound induces the visualization of a certain color.

Ursula Vernon tastes shapes in foods, or at least wines.
This is not a motivation for doing evil.  I trust this was a character trait rather than 'cause'?
