*SQUEE* Hubby ordered me a kindle for my birthday and made it so it got here today! So when I got up from my sick flu-induced nap, I had a brand new kindle with Down These Strange Streets already on it! He is the best husband EVER!

I love Warren. He is my hero. I'm ready to discuss it when I've figured out how to hide spoilers and stuff...
This is a signature. It doesn't look like much, but it has magical properties which can turn dirtbags into toads. May cause light-headedness, dizziness, rosacea, frequent urination, heart palpitations, unnatural urge for grilled cheese, and in most cases works as an aphrodisiac.

to hide spoilers, you add the following: (just take out the spaces)
[spoiler ] (your text goes here) [/ spoiler]

There's a shortcut that shows up on my display.  You highlight the text you want to encode as a spoiler, then press the formatting button marked as spoiler.  Don't know how to describe it, but you can see it if you hover your mouse over the buttons. Spoilers will be remarked on once I get my hands on the book!

I know the general thrust of the story, from the draft read at the Howl, too.
We've had our toad for the 2020s, it's got to get better from here!
But do beware the toad burps.

Sorry, I was in transit on my way home from work. :)

I think this is a solid foundation on what could be a new series for PI Warren and his lawyer mate. They were pretty much adorable. I love how much Warren has changed over the years but still remaining smart and tough. I enjoyed the call back to Elivaveta and her grandson as well.

Definitely get a bit off track from the short story discussion. I'm just going to start a new thread for you to talk about Warren's future job prospects. ;)

There's fussy, and then there's crazy-murderous.  I'm guessing that if Mr. Francis wasn't behind the attack on Kyle, he'd still be alive... just intimidated.

"Sorry.  He's my cowboy, you'll have to find your own."
I think we need a T-shirt that says My cowboy doesn't blush like Warren does.

or maybe

My cowboy might not blush, but I do.
