River Marked audiobook?
« on: February 22, 2011, 04:22:20 pm »
Hello,

I cant wait to delve into the next book in the series. My wife and I listen to audiobooks on our trips and daily commutes to work (radio? whats that?). There are several series we are not allowed to read or listen to separately now...and Mercy Thompson is one of them.  PLEASE tell me there is an audiobook coming out right away for River Marked....I have been looking High and Low but all I see if the hardcopy and an ebook version. Any info would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
Jonathan

I heard there was a preorder available via Penguin's audio site but that was in Canada :P
But it should be out soon - not sure if it will be on the release date but definitely soon after. I do know that Lorelie King completed the taping a few months ago so its definitely done!

I thought Mr. Mike had said something on the subject, and went looking for it.  Sure enough, he said:

Heck, even Patty and I can't keep track of the audio editions.   :-'   It's worse than trying to keep track of the comic books.  Sometimes, we find out they're available because somebody writes to tell us what they thought of the narrator.  It's a crazy world!   :D

Good to have both places, as far as I'm aware.

Penguin has it available. It's more expensive than the HB does that seem right? I've never dl'd audio books before:

Books On Board also has it:

I have two books coming this (and each) month. Long as it's paid for,
I'll wait.

Well, you don't have to pay for paper, ink, binding, etc., but you do have to pay for studio & narrator(s) and the other things involved.

I have a membership with Audible. I get two books/month for a fixed fee. :)
If I don't use 'em, I lose 'em.

We gotta pay Patty too!  :o

I just down loaded it from Booksonboard... Normally I get my audiobooks from Audible or ITunes but so far so good and at a great price!

I'm glad it worked out for you yasmine. BoB seems pretty good for stock and prices.

Hold off ordering it... There is a problem with the first section of the download... I'm waiting to see what BoB does about it...

I just came here to say that same thing yasmine!  You beat me to it... it's not just the first part either, there's a chunk missing out of the middle too!  Someone needs to get it all sorted out.  I had saved a credit at audible too, but decided the BoB price was worth going for it, now I guess we know why the audible release was delayed.  Guess they caught it and that's why it's so late... good thing really, though pretty aggravating.

It's up on Audible now, and a good copy.  (yes that's right, I never heard from BoB and used my audible credit anyway)

Lorelei King did her usual great job on the voices and characters!  Just enough distinction, never overdone.  I have to say that Holter Graham who reads the A&O books does a better job of the typical (yeah, I know, IS there such a thing as typical?) NA tone and voice, and I love the way he does Charles' voice including the tempo and pace for him, but Lorelei King's voices are how I think of all the other characters!

It's on Audible now... no issues with the download but they didn't label it under Sci-Fi/Fantasy... they have it listed under Fiction... I called them on it to fix that... I never look in the Fiction section... I found by typing in author name. Wonderful book!!!
