Only semi-relevant, have you heard the 2 songs Mercedes Lackey wrote about the Morgaine at the Well books?
They're on the 'Mercedes Lackey:  Live!' album from Firebird Arts & Music.

Hmmm... I may have to look into this.  At one time C.J. Cherryh was at the top of my "must buy, sight unseen" list just because she is such an excellent author that I liked everything she wrote (the the Chanur novels, the Morgaine cycle, the Faded Sun trilogy, etc.) but I have to admit I have not read anything new from her for a while.

Oh, well, you can never have too many books on your "to be read" pile... right?   ::)

It looks like the Cyteen sequel will be published in January 2009.  There will also be another Foreigner book published next year, as well.   ::)

I am also a fan. Did you know she has her own personal asteroid? How this for cool: asteroid, 77185 Cherryh. She also blogs here:

so that you can keep up to date.

And number 12 soon! Betrayer: Foreigner #12 by C. J. Cherryh (Apr 5, 2011). Yay! End a sequence but hopefully not the series ...  :)

Psst. -- C.J. Cherryh has a new Foreigner novel, Peacemaker, due out in early April. I have it on pre-order in both ebook and printed book formats. Also, the first three Chanur books are now out in ebook format.

I see Patty Briggs has a book due out in March, and I've heard there's an anthology short story collection somewhere in process, but no idea when that one will be out.
