The oak tree in Mercy's yard.
« on: January 21, 2010, 06:07:21 am »
Hi Patty,

We've been having a discussion in the Bone Crossed forum about the oak tree and have had several different theories come up about it.

  • is the oak tree connected to Donnell?
  • is the tree the Oakman or his home?
  • is the tree a child of his?
  • is it just a tree? and a gift to her from him for the rescue?
  • will the tree follow Mercy if she moves?
  • did Donnell die and at the place of his remains that tree grew?

We're definitely curious about it! :)

Dear Elle,
As far as Mercy (and I) know, it is just a tree -- for all that it just appeared there <grin>.  It is a gift (no Donnell didn't die -- the fae are very, very tough).  I don't know if it will follow her -- it is no relation of Donnell's.   At this moment I have no further plans for it -- but that's what I said about the walking stick too . . .
