Stefan's Blood Exchange with Mercy
« on: March 16, 2010, 03:20:23 pm »
When Stefan exchanged blood with Mercy, he would have inherited her abilities to see/control ghosts for a few hours like James Blackwood did, right? This would've happened "off stage", so to speak, but I wonder what he would have done with that ability. Would Stefan have seen Daniel?

Also, what did Stefan inherit when he fed from Adam, Ben, etc at the beginning of the story? I was thinking the ability to heal quickly. Do the vamps in Mercy's world generally heal quickly? Littleton seemed to heal quickly when Mercy attacked him, but I'm not sure if that was the demon's doing or vamp nature.

No.  Inheriting his "food's" talents was unique to Blackwood.  That's what made him so powerful.

That's true. In addition to this fact (I think) it would have taken more blood exchanges for Staphan for anything to happen, maybe 10 or more (Blackwood fed off his prisoners for several years).

No; Blackwood's quirk showed the very first time he fed off anyone other than basic human or his "sire".  It did not take time for him to show those talents he was stealing from his victims.

So Blackwood is unique among his kind. Is it possible that as parents transmit traits and talents to their human children that a vampire sire does the same with their get? If so, would Blackwood be seeking to propagate or would he be just the opposite, not wanting any potential rival to have that added ability.

Did you read the book with him in it?  Doesn't that answer that question?

That is what I thought too.  :)
