Wolfsbane and Mistletoe | Star of David Discussion
« on: February 11, 2008, 03:24:59 pm »
Charlaine is very excited about this anthology and the wonderful variety of stories it contains. The last few anthologies that she has helped edit have done really well and the collections have, IMO, been unusually good. I hope this one does as well.  :)

I have jsut read The Star of David in Wolfsbane and Mistletoe.

It was outstanding.   As a father I could definately identify with David's emotions concerning his relationship with his estranged daughter.

I loved the ending and wished the story was longer jsut to see what happened next.

I read it twice in the same sitting.

Great Job!!!

Sincerely,

Bryan

Okay, I have no willpower where books are concerned.  I broke down and read just this short from the book, it was our Hostess' usual wonderful job.  Most yummy!

Hi alltogether,

i was not here for a while, and now i searched for
a topic for Wolfsbane and Misteltoe or the short Story
Star of David, with David Christiansen ( Mooncalled),
but i have´nt found one.

If there is a topic, please excuse this one.

Now: I loved the Story. I actually bought the book because
there was a story from Mrs. Briggs in it. But i was happy to see
there where other good story´s from other authors in it as well.

(Dont know how to spoiler tag, so warning here, this might be one):

I liked seeing that David Christiansen gets closer to his familiy again,
and now i am curious about the  boy wizard.
I hope there will be soon ( i know you had a lot of trouble the last couples of months,
so maybe not to soon :) ) another anthologie with another story like that.

As usual please excuse my bad english
best wishes

Demi

well I spent some b-day money to get this anthology and The Star of David was the first one I have read.  Very good, I wonder if we will see these characters in future stories???  Even if we don't, this was an excellent holiday treat from the world of Briggs

I'm still waiting for Hastings here to stock it.  I'm guessing I'll just have to break down and order it there or online. :(

I read this book to pass the time on the trip to California, the few days before Christmas.  What a great anthology!  I did like our Hostesses' offering the best, I'm not too much for Santa Vampires or Santa Killers.  But, there was only one I went 'ick!' after reading.  I have loaned the book to my future son in law, and have another reader lined up after that.

Read this the other day, I thought it was short and sweet.

I like that it wasn't dragged out introducing new characters, but that we got just enough info on them to be invested in them before the action started and who doesn't like a happy ending.

Ok so i know i bought the book a few months ago but i just got around to getting out of my slump of not reading first:

I had no idea this
Quote
This is the short story that expands on the story of David Christiansen, the first werewolf to come out to the public.
was about this story!  That makes it ten times better!

And second:  The story was great! I was very happy with it, it kept my attention well, but i do wish it had been a little longer so i could see what happened! lol it was really good though, happy to have read it :)

Does anyone know if the Star of David short story is going to be released separately as an e-novella?
Kind of like Patty did with Alpha and Omega? I really want to read the short story but don't care to
buy the anthology.

gingkogirl, I contacted Anne Sowards, Patty's editor, on twitter to ask about the e-novella for both Star of David and Seeing Eye. She said there were no plans right now for that to happen for either of them. If that changes I'll make sure to post it here.
