What happens at Patricia Briggs books signings?
« on: April 05, 2010, 12:18:05 pm »
I was not sure where to put this or if a thread already existed for this type of thing but here goes.

As I live in England I am unable to go to any signings Patricia does. My question is does Patricia answer questions from fans about the books (in this case SB), i.e more details about how she came up with the story line, give out anymore juicy details about characters etc.

If so, for the people who can't get to signings, would it be possible that information about what was said at the signings be posted in the forum.

:-[ I'm sorry if I sound pushy, it's just as an obsessive Mercy Thompson fan,  :D  I can't help but wonder, what goes on at signings as I have never been to one.

Again I apologise if I sound rude.

Hi, midnight.  :)  Patty does answer questions, when she has the time.  We have little Ask Patty boards in each of the sections for her books (Odds & Ends, Sianim Series, Hob's Bargain, Hurog Series, Raven Series, The Weres, and Anthologies/Short Stories).  As Patty's time permits, she will answer those questions, and we move them into the respective AP: Answered boards.  So, for example, if you look under The Weres, you will find the place to post your questions.  :)

Want to know what happens at a signing?  Watch the videos as stated here:

*The old video link was broken so I've replaced it with a new. Happy watching!

Okay.....so....confession time.

I'm going to the Oakbrook signing/reading/festivities/carnival  bOuNcY

That's not the confession. Never have I ever....been to a signing. The closest I've really been was a midnight Harry Potter release. J.K. Rowling did not attend (oddly enough, in the middle of nowhere in Michigan. Weird.). So, what should I bring/expect/prepare for at such festivities? I'm coming from out-of-state, so I don't want to come underprepared (I blame my inner Girl Scout). Any tips, posse?   :)

You don't need to bring anything but yourself, Baum. ;)

You can purchase Frost Burned at the bookstore and if you are planning on bringing more books for Patty to sign she has a 3 book limit for each go around. That way everyone gets the chance to interact with her so you can always go to the back of the line and get the rest of your books done if you have more.

Does that help?

If you want, bring camera so you can get photo(s) of you & her, we'd love to see them.  Think how you want her to inscribe your book(s) as in "to Baum Diggety" or "Fred, hugs!" and have that on a note at the title page of the first, with the others stacked under it, also open to title page, so she can move to them easily.
