http://sharonleewriter.com/2019/12/notes-on-accepting-the-lance/    Apparently some people panicked, thinking the just-released "Accepting The Lance" volume was the last Liaden book, or the last in the "current" time frame.

@ClanKorval
We have been in touch with Mr. Feldberg at Audible, who lets us know that the audiobook edition of Accepting the Lance will be available from Audible tomorrow, 12/10/19.

Thank you for your patience.

The composite cover for Trader's Leap has landed! This is what you'll actually see on the shelves of bookstores, at the end of the year.

Hmm ... I was wondering if it was only me that was looking askance at the character on the right. Then I looked at the cover again, and saw the second character was of the same opinion.

Yeah, the Terran guy (Not Jethri, I gather, although it's got "Trader" in the title) has An Idea, and Liaden Guy doesn't think it's a good one, clearly.

I wonder if the confused ones are also confused over the subject of gravity; which way it works in, and that it is not optional.

As a former mod for a best-selling author, I can tell you that the majority of readers are pretty smart, but a significant minority of posters are morons (the term for them in our PMs was f'idiots). They don't read the website rules before posting. They don't read prior posts - including the one directly above their own - before commenting or asking questions. They are the reason there is an FAQ page, and they won't read that. They may well be highly intelligent in some way or other, but they are so entitled that they feel no obligation to use that intelligence online (or, I would guess, IRL, but that's not my problem). Expecting them to consider rationally the subject of author compensation may indeed be reasonable, but is not realistic.

On another note, I chuckle every time I see mention of timonium in these books. A little digging reveals that the authors are Baltimore natives and met at BaltiCon. Timonium, home of the state fairgrounds, is ten minutes up the road from Baltimore. I'm still waiting for mention of a Cow Palace. Mattie and I were there Saturday for the World of Pets expo, mainly so she could meet lots of dogs (which she did).

I also wonder whether the giant turtles hark back to their time at UMCP. Fear the Turtle!!!

I've never cared for the common comment that there are no stupid questions. In my opinion, there are. And these folks "They don't read prior posts - including the one directly above their own - before commenting or asking questions" exemplify what I add to the comment. That the stupid question is the one that was already answered while this questioner could not be bothered to listen.
