I found this over on Baen's Bar, and as you'll see, the authors give permission for the cross post.

They did the first draft of their new book "Fledgling" online, & people sent money to encourage them, so that if a person sent $25.00 american, they are entitled to a physical copy of the completed book.  In case you're one of them, this is directed to you:

Quote
If you subscribed to Fledgling sufficient unto receiving a thank-you book from the authors, and you have not heard from and responded to Scott Raun, now is the hour!

Please feel free to post the following link -- with explanation and following the rules of courtesy -- in those places you Fledgling readers may gather: http://www.korval.com/fledgling/

There are approximately 175 people who stand in danger of not receiving their books, because their addresses cannot be verified. Please be sure that you are not among their unhappy ranks.

Thank you!

Thank you!
I did not see this. Frankly I find the layout of Baens bar confusing and so haven't reaaly spent much time there.
Now I will get my copy of Fledgling....

Here's the updated listing info for those who need to claim their copies.

In the LJ Theo Waitley community, I've put up Fledgling Lost Souls, Part The Second. It's at  http://community.livejournal.com/theo_waitley/93950.html.

This is the current, complete (and being updated) list - please ignore Part The First.

I was reading their thread at Baen's, and Ms. Lee (talking about a really bad cover art selection for the re-release of a 2 book set) said:

"Granted, the Power of Our Prose(tm) may be such that said reader will immediately fall under the spell of the words and *never notice* that he just read four hundred pages of James-Bond-Dates-Georgette-Heyer-in-Deep-Space."

I just about fell over laughing at that description, I love it!

LOL LOL but she is right, some of the new covers are hideous. I have been thinking of renewing since my old books are getting a bit worn, but if I got those editions I would be forced to bind them myself in some other paper......  9)

Yay, more Liaden fans!

I can't tell you how happy I am they're reissuing the first books in the series. I've trying to track down copies of Local Custom and Carpe Diem since forever! And now I'll have all the books in the series.

Btw, they've moved The Agent Gambit to January 2011. Does that mean the rest of the books are going to be delayed too?
