Well I just finished "A Rising Thunder". It accomplished it mission as bridging and plot focusing book. Seeing as Honor was suppose to Die in the First Battle of Manicore. She is no longer "Nelson" but "Ike". Since the "Crown of Slaves" and "Tourch of Freedom" storylines replace what was planned either Faith/James or Roual/Kate to do. He has to replot everything, that he had planned on. It will be interesting how many Honorverse book come out with all the plot devices he has set up now.

It has been a couple of Honor Harrington books since I commented about the series. I am disappointted in it, because in three or four he has the same two chapters in them. the first being Aton and Cathcart are figuring out were to go, the second chapter is where Mesa Alingment is discussing the resault of Cathcart and Aton showing back up. I known that the timelines of the books over lap but I feel cheated by these chapters.

I was just reading author foreword to Storm From The Shadows where he says why he does it, and acknowledges that it makes some people unhappy.  It is a small portion of the total word count, and these things are doorstops anyway.  732 pages in this one before diagrams of various weapons/ships and the cast of characters.

I thoroughly enjoyed both A Beautiful Friendship and Fire Storm.  So cool getting to know Honor's ancestors and the origins of Treecats.  :)

It just occurred to me that the artwork of Honor Harrington looks a heck of a lot like Commander Susan Ivanova on Babylon 5.
