Have you read The Relic by Douglas/Child?  Much better than The Tomb.

Haven't actually read either of them, but saw some of 'the Tomb' & regretted it.  I don't like either horror or most fiction about Nazi Germany. 
But I do know that Dr. Wilson does write better than the movie would make you think.

I agree about the movies not as good as reading the book.  I still think imagination is better than someone else's visualization, simply because it never seems to be the same.  Of course, there are LOTS of movies where I refused to read the book because I wanted to enjoy the movie!!!

I also enjoyed Stranger at the Wedding, but my favorite of her books were the two books she wrote as companions to an '80s television show called "Beauty and the Beast." I've never seen the shows, but her two books and the one by Ru Emerson that sort of retell episodes are really good.

Did you notice she did the crossover thing, too?  Like she did in her first "Star Trek" novel?  Although in a more low-key way.

I'm not sure I picked up on that, but like I said I've never seen the shows, nor have I read any of her Star Trek books (or any Star Trek books at all for that matter). So, pretty much, I'm confused. ???

Ah, well, in one of the B&tB books, she mentions in passing Catherine notices a 'private detective' passing through, & that was 'the Equalizer', from the same era's shows.
And I recommend her "Ishmael" in the ST series, she invokes 2-3 versions of Dr.Who, Battlestar Galactica characters, Han Solo, Hokas, Paladin from 'Have gun, will travel', Clint Eastwood's character from 'Rawhide', 'Bonanza', & probably several others I didn't notice - in the middle of the "here come the brides" show about the founding of Seattle.  Quite amusing to read.

Indeed, I adore TV land and old shows, but it requires cable which I rarely have access to. Dick Van Dyke Show and I Dream of Jeannie are two of my favorites! But I have not come across many '80s shows except for the A-team (is that the right decade for that show?).
