Some musings on how and why the lesbian character presents her super hero persona as distinctly feminine.

This whole article just makes me want to bang my head on something. Specifically, the idea that dress code has anything to do with sexual orientation or gender role or anything other than practical considerations (even if those practical considerations have anything to do with attracting a mate) bugs the H E double hockey sticks out of me. People should be able to code switch without someone doing a grad school dissertation on their choices.

That said, we live in the world as it is, not the world as we wish it to be. This being the case, everything the writer says is valid. As a straight female who wears her hair very short and dresses to balance professionalism with practicality for her outdoor job, I am accustomed to having unwarranted assumptions made about my gender (from those who aren't looking closely) or orientation (from those who are looking a little too closely). It's kind of cute when gay or trans people do it; rather less so when straight people do, because they have a tendency to be weirdly uncomfortable with it.

I just want everyone to dress how they want to dress, and to not be a$$holes about how anyone else dresses. That is all.

I feel ya. At different times I've been accused of having three wives. Fortunately all three were good friends and we just had a laugh.

I've enjoyed the "Silver John" stories since fairly soon after they started coming out, I want to see this.

It appears to be a 1972 release? Or is there a newer version coming out?

72.  I had no idea it existed, I don't believe I've heard of any of the actors before. Not sure how I can get my hands on it.
