New TV Shows in the upcoming season
« on: February 23, 2011, 12:11:16 pm »
Hijacking this post. ;) Elle

Heard about a new show coming up in the new season? Let's talk here about them.  bOuNcY There are some good ones!

Terra Nova

This one coming in May on Fax sounds interesting. Time traveling families sent back to the time of dinosaurs to start new lives when the earth is not habitable.... Hopefully they don't cancel too quickly. Fox seems to do that to good shows a lot.

Well, the concept sure sounds like a winner.  :)

Looks like there's another delay on the series.
There are many people – happy people, it usually appears – whose thoughts at Christmas always turn to books. The notion of a Christmas tree with no books under it is repugnant and unnatural to them. – Robertson Davies (1997)

I saw a trailer for this. It looks REALLY interesting. I hope they can make it work because I'd love to see it. It looks like it's set for the fall.

I really love the concept of how the world is in 2100s. I think it's pretty spot on. The special FX budget for this show has to out of this world.

From the trailer the FX looks good. Will be interesting to see if the series turns out as good as this promises :)

I'm having a hard time getting past the fact that Stephen Lang, who played the bad guy in Avatar, is in it.  In fact, when I first
saw the commercials, it was like Avatar and Land of the Lost had a baby.
I could not deprive you of the realization of all you could accomplish together, and of a friendship that will define you both in ways you cannot begin to imagine.

 LOL

I like Stephen a lot. He was a great villain in Avatar. I wonder if he's a good guy or a bad guy in this one. So far his character reminds me a bit of Bob Peck the hunter in Jurassic Park.

Falling Skies

This is a new tv show starting in June on TNT. Steven Spielberg is exec producing it. Aliens attack and it's about a group of human resistance fighters called the 2nd Massachusetts. It stars Noah Wyle (John Carter from ER) as a history professor that uses his knowledge of military history to help fight the aliens and regain the Earth.

I love this and am so there.

No, I've been seeing commercials for it here now.  "Anything that raises your pulse will make you change."  Trouble there.

It's been talked for awhile now, I not sure though, is it a remake/relaunch of the Canadian produced TV-Show that ran sometime back or the Movie?

Here's the trailer for that new JJ Abrams show: Alcatraz

Quote
Alcatraz follows Rebecca Madsen, a police officer (Sarah Jones), and Dr. Diego Soto (Jorge Garcia), a "hippy geek" who is the world's foremost expert on Alcatraz. Both will investigate the reappearance of 302 wardens and prisoners of Alcatraz in modern day, after their mysterious disappearance fifty years ago.

LOL It does look like that, doesn't it? Time will tell, I guess. I don't know what it is with JJ and his love of islands. Hopefully no polar bears on this one. ;)

I caught a chunk of one of the premiere episodes, and wasn't enthused.  Teen angst, somebody who can't see the danger of suddenly standing out, jumping to conclusions on guilt, obsessive-compulsive behavior... bah.  Rehash of stale ingredients.

I did watch the first ep of Teen Wolf and tried with the second but it just didn't hold my attention. Ditto what Patti said. I won't be watching anymore. I think I stuck around because surprisingly JR Bourne showed up as the father of one of the characters. I like his acting but even he couldn't win me over to this one.

My roommates and I saw a commercial for the show "New Girl", coming this September to Fox!

It stars Zooey Deschanel and looks like it's going to be pretty funny.  I'm guessing it's either going to be really bad, or really good ;)

I'm not really up to date:

I've only just discovered the BBC show "Mistresses"
Like it so far (which isn't saying much after only four ep's), not sure about the title though, it sounds so conservative (not that the title they use in German was any better).
Anywho, anybody else watching? Yay, nay?
