I'm planning to pick that up at my earliest convenience.

I'd seen that somewhere. Looks like an interesting departure. I'm hoping he gets back to the Folly though.

Don't think he can stay away myself.

Well, I found the blurb to be a bit of a Red Herring.

How did you feel about bring in the Librarians as a pop cultural appropriation?

I'm not hip enough to know what they're appropriating there. If it's Dr. Who, BA wrote for that himself, so he's appropriating his own oeuvre. Never watched that myself, although I do recognize a few references, so I'm not sure whether that's what you're talking about. I'm happy about the book overall.

The Librarians was a television show that I enjoyed for a bit. I think there were three seasons. The first season they were collecting King Arthur's artifacts. I'm certain BA is too savey to get into legal trouble from appropriating something. It was a bit different from the omage he did of Harry Dresden which was just a throwaway reference.

I enjoyed the book as well. I was just a bit shocked at the appropriation.

Maybe he wrote for that show as well? Or maybe it's like Neil Gaiman said about inspiration, giant squishy pumpkins (if memory serves) drifting through the universe and occasionally landing on writers' heads. That was in a blog where he said Charlaine Harris should go ahead and write her Cemetery Girl series, after she found his The Graveyard Book and despaired because she had conceived of a similar premise.

I looked it up. BA is not accredited for writing on The Librarians.
