I've read 4/5 of the footnoted ones. And I could offer a lot more suggestions about the magic of creativity.

Which of us couldn't But the article is sponsored by Tor, so it's going to be skewed toward their recent releases.

Interesting; I was pleased to see that Mr. Bester's classic was in there.

Technically, with mate bonds, the Mercyverse could go in there too.

Timely! I have just added some to mine. And the ones they list that I've read, I heartily endorse.

I'm not really fond of antiheroes. If they're a$$holes to anybody, eventually they'll be an a$$hole to you. I did read one of those series, purely because a friend sent me the first three books when I was homebound post-surgery years ago. I slogged my way through those three, waiting for either the heroine or the antihero to get a clue. Lots of sex happened, but no clues were found. People said it got better in the next book. According to a different friend, they had sex in the fourth book, but the guy was still an a$$hole. Frankly there was only one character in the whole series who was at all relatable, and that one was literally a minor character, as in a teenager.

Characters IA describes as alpha holes, like Kate and Curran, are different because they at least have codes of honor. I can overlook quite a bit from someone who at least tries to do the right thing. If their only purpose in the book is to raise the general level of hawtness, I'm out.
