I read the first of the Black Company books, and it was truly excellent. It can be a challenging read, though. Every time I go to B&N I debate getting an omnibus, and one day when I'm feeling flush, I will.

As for the Discworld books, I have read them, every one. Most multiple times. Many, many multiples.

I've read Sunshine and the Spellsinger series, as well as a lot more of each author. There are several more on there that I now want to read.

I've tried ten of those, and only gotten past the first couple of books to finish with the Sookie Stackhouse series. In most of those cases it's because to me, they read way more like PR than UF, and I have a low tolerance for PR except for anything Ilona Andrews writes. Those I can read. When I have to skim too many gratuitous sex scenes to get to the action, I'm done. Not that I have any objection to sex scenes in the service of plot or character development - those are fine. It's the ones that read like their frequency is written into the contract that bore me.

It's funny, I keep hooking other people on him, but his fiction writing mostly doesn't quite work for me.  I mostly read his tweets, his blogs.   I liked the stuff where he went "the poses women are shown in on book covers are stupid and unrealistic.  Look what happens when I try them."  Then he got some mock up props and (mostly) had his wife take pictures of him.  In spite of martial arts training, he came close to spraining his gnaester a few times, or throwing out his back.

I agree with you, Patti. I love his blog, but the two books of his that I started I didn't finish.

I may have to look for some of those. After I shrink my large TBR pile.

I've tried most and not gotten into many. Among them I particularly enjoyed Kat Richardson's Greywalker books and did not know it had finished. For some reason I have not kept up after about four, only sporadically seeing and grabbing another off the library shelf.
I intend to get back to it.
The Georgia Kincaid series didn't draw me, but I really enjoyed Ms. Mead's Gameboard of the Gods. Although I didn't find it's sequel as good.

I read the Carrie Vaugne story.

The library now has it on hold for me; I expect to pick it up this weekend.
I never was able to get into the lady's books about Kitty, so, go to the library.
