I remember reading Will of the Empress not to long ago. Are you sure you've got the right title? I think it was Melting Stones that came out first as an audio.
Now you're beginning to confuse me.  Will of the Empress is already out, yes, I've got it on a shelf behind my head in pb right now.  Melting Stones is the one first in audio.  You've already got it?  I thought it wasn't coming out until Sept or Oct?  And next year in a written rather than spoken format.
If you HAVE already got it, I may have a temper tantrum! ;D

No need to blush, Zealith. Chronology can get dicy both on boards like this & in publishing, especially with different formats for the books.
Didn't Grey Drakkon do a great weretigress?  Isn't she GREAT to let me use it as my icon?

Yes, she looks perfect. Not to human, not to feline.

Did you know that Tamora Pierce cooks, too?
I was just looking for lunar eclipse celebratory recipies in the SF cookbook, & ran across 'the best white bread in 12 systems' by her.
Do you suppose Daine goes through an intermediate stage that looks like this in changing shape to a cat?

Yeah by all accounts Daine's not quite changed things are kinda weird looking (the hawk with the human mouth in Knight, Protector of the Small quartet). Though it would be cool if that was how it worked. ;D

She's got considerably more conscious control of it than most shape shifters.  Hardly surprising, given how she comes by the ability, eh?

yeah, throw in that little demi-goddess aspect and well.... she would obviously be a little bit different from other shape-shifters.

Love the Tamora Pierce books, with The Immortals series in the lead for the most re-reads so far.  I do need my own copy of The Realms of the Gods though, I ordered her next in the Terrier series Blood Hound last week so hopefully that will be here around the release date.

I bought and listened to the audiobook:
Melting Stones. It was very different. Evvy and Rosethorn, plus the heart of a mountain. It is not what you expect at all.

I'm gonna wait for that one to come out in book form
Finally got to reread Terrier. Can't wait for Bloodhound!
Rosto = meeeow!

I saw a bunch of things that made me think of the other tortall books that made me laugh.
like when "pounce" says he hates the misty weather... in the 2nd Alanna book there is the whole mist thing that leads to alanna's capture...

there were a few others, but that one stuck.
