The blurb or teaser I read seemed to indicate that it was partly that & partly 'The Red Shoes'.

We all know these books are real, we just don't want to face it because the government keeps it all hidden.

There's also the Warrior Cats series by Erin Hunter (I think!) about different clans of cats. Will have to go check the author's name now, in case I got that wrong!  ::)
Take care

Okay, I went and checked and there is no-one called Erin Hunter, it's actually a pseudonym for three childrens writers. Just noticed as well they are UK books so I'm not sure if they are available overseas!
Take care

I'm pretty sure they're here under the series title of 'Warriors'  And there's 'Lion Boy' trilogy by a mother & daughter team in young readers too.

For some reason, today I was thinking about this & that, and noticed that there was a 'news' article recently about people whose body chemistries have altered so that they always stink, badly.  There was a character in one of the 'The Cat Who' books who'd had that happen to him.  Anyone else remember it?

My sister has some mistery books where the "detective" is a domestic cat: I can't recall their titles or their author though :-\

I am pretty sure you are talking about FELIDAE and the following books by Akif Pirinçci (german author).... two of his books were translated to english, as far as I know.... There even is a movie called FELIDAE .... it's an animated movie, made in the 90ies I think... but nothing for kids, I tell you, it's quite disturbing, but really really good!

I have the first two books and they are pretty good..... the cat is called Francis by the way and his friend Blaubart ( at least in german )
