BTW, in case you were not aware, Seanan won The Hugo Award for Best Novella 2017 for Every Heart A Doorway

A book that I very much enjoyed. It is also a book that others I know made them feel uncomfortable. They could not identify with the perspective as written by the Main Character. Something I very much found appealing. I Felt it added a sense of depth that can be sometimes lacking when writing characters with perspectives different than CIS/Gay Norms. I honestly felt like I was listening to one of my friends talking to me while reading the book.

The thing I liked about it is that it showed the consequences that follow when kids are not allowed to be who they are. A parent's job is to help the kid figure out who the kid wants to be and how to be a responsible, independent, happy version of that. Some parents don't get the memo on this.

I'm totally with the "made me feel uncomfortable" crew, but I felt I could easily relate to the main character.
I was that undercurrent of abuse that drew itself throughout the story that made my squirm at times.

Every Heart A Doorway was on the old Kindle so you can read it too.

Your books should have transferred over to your new Kindle.

Tricks For Free came out yesterday. Antimony is the heroine. I picked it up with Burn Bright and Lake Silence at B&N last night. BB was right out front, but I had to get a staffer to retrieve the other two from the back as they hadn't been shelved yet.  :-\ Authors are kind of at the mercy of sales staff sometimes.
