When did the anthology Silver Birch, Blood Moon come out and is it still for sale? I can't seem to find it anywhere...

I see no-one has come up with an answer for you.
In that case, BuddhaJean, you might want to check the title.  If it's a little different, you might get a whole pot of 'Ah-hah!' answers.
It sounds like the series of collections with mostly new takes on classic folk/fairy tales that is edited by Ellen Datlow & Terri Windling.
The only volume of theirs I have on hand is 'Ruby Slippers, Golden Tears', & it's an earlier one, so I don't find a title similar to yours listed.
Hope this helps. ;D

I've seen it at my school's linrary, but thet's hardly any help to you. You might think of checking used book stores.

It is a Datlow & Windling anthology.  In all honesty, this one was, on the whole, not as good as several of their others.  However, it is still available.  Here's the Amazon.com link, you can use the information there to find it pretty much anywhere else: http://www.amazon.com/Silver-Birch-Blood-Terri-Windling/dp/0380786222/ref=sr_1_11/102-6852000-5019338?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1189292695&sr=8-11

Thought so.  But it's funny that this sat here for 4 days without a word, then when I suggested it might be a slightly incorrect title & offered the editors' names, POW!http:// other people went to work on it.  I love the way people here want to aid each other.

I must admit, I did not like this short story....it was a very dark description of the whole tale and just, well, the whole anthology was not exactly what I was expecting. I much liked the other one better.

It was my favorite retelling of that fairy tale, but then again I didn't like the fairy tail originally anyways. :P
