I noticed when I got dressed this morning that my underwear have a tiny little bow on them.  ...and I can't stop thinking about Curran!!  :P

Have you gotten 'round to reading the first book, yet?
There are many people – happy people, it usually appears – whose thoughts at Christmas always turn to books. The notion of a Christmas tree with no books under it is repugnant and unnatural to them. – Robertson Davies (1997)

Love the new set up on Ilona's page. And now she's teasing us with "Poor Julie" on her blog. I wonder if Derrick falls in love and it breaks Julie's heart.

Oh, that would be sad! :-'

Besides, didn't one of the book say that he was a natural alpha?  I got the sense that he wasn't just "an alpha" but rather an alpha of the Curran variety:  an alpha of all alphas.  I've been thinking of him as Curran's protoge and trainee.  Curran won't be replaced any time soon, but it's not like there's some guarantee that any kids he and Kate have will be natural leaders the way he is (or she is).  (Although I do suppose it's likely, given their individual aptitudes.)  It's important for the Pack to have an alpha who could step in to keep the clans united, and I thought that's what Derek's role was...or would eventually be.  So horrible to imagine him dying unexpectedly!
I could not deprive you of the realization of all you could accomplish together, and of a friendship that will define you both in ways you cannot begin to imagine.

...Or, with her vampire paranoia, Ghastek/Natarja/Roland/Hugh/somebody might decide to kidnap her to get to Kate.

When I read the Julie tease, I imagined she was going to have some difficulty with her developing magic.

Nope, I can't believe he's going to die. I'm thinking Julie is going to have some emotional teenage problems dealing with her crush on Derrick and her powers.

I don't want to write the great American novel. I want to write the great American beach read. It pays better!

Wouldn't she have teased us with "poor Derek", if her was going to die?

Anyway, no one's suggested it could be Julie's horrific demise.

Even bigger: No. Just. No.

That was terribly evil of her...

But I do love the new look of the blog, especially Julie's graffiti!
