Ha! I didn't see that, either. I guess having "up" in quotation marks wasn't helpful :)

I saw Illona's answer about that, too. Thanks Has.

I used this days leading up to the Howl weekend and the travel time to catch up on the Kate Daniels books and the On the Edge series. Love them! I'm sorry that I missed the 2 chapter preview but I'm looking forward to the next in both series. I finally get the Curran appeal!  >D

You know, of course, that this is all your fault. You and Mid. Why I even try to resist your book pushing I do not know.

Okay, someone tell me who Julie is.  Kate always refers to her as "my kid," but I get the sense that she is not, in fact, Kate's daughter.  So what's the deal?  How old is she? Where did she come from?  Yada-yada....

(To explain....  I finally bought one of these books, but the only one the bookstore had was #3.  And in typical Nifty fashion, I opened it up to the end and read the last couple pages.  Specifically, Curran's note about the dinner he expected Kate to make for him.  Naked dinner?  MUST. KNOW. MORE.  So then rather than open #3 to the beginning and start reading, I went out into the world on a hunt for #4 so I could find out how naked-dinner-with-pie went.  A woman has her priorities, after all.  Then with #4 in my hands, I skimmed all through it reading just Kate-and-Curran parts.  Again, priorities.  (I often do the same thing with the Mercy books and skim through re-reading just the Mercy-and-Adam parts.)  But anyway....  I want to know more about who Julie is.  So what's her deal?  Somebody clue me in, please!!)
I could not deprive you of the realization of all you could accomplish together, and of a friendship that will define you both in ways you cannot begin to imagine.

Julie is Kate's "adopted niece" whom she calls my kid. Julie's mother was killed. And Kate took her in.  from Magic Burns book 2. Now go read the books in order woman!! ;) :P

 LOL LOL LOL LOL

Yes! Nifty - YOU MUST get the previous books just to see how Curran and Kate develop - you are missing on that buildup but I feel you! :D
Piper beat me to it :D LOL

And welcome to the Kate Kittie's club! :D
I also recommend you check out her Edge series - which is more paranormal romance but they are quirky and fun!

My mom always reads the last page of the book first... but I am a little OCD about AT LEAST reading the first book before I read the subsequent books.  Only a few times will I skip books in a series, and I have to have read a series at least twice before I will skip book one and go straight to my favorite books.

GO BACK AND START AT THE BEGINNING!  I mean, the best part of Kate and Curran is how bad they've antagonized each other, intentionally, from the beginning!  (ahem... *here, kitty, kitty...*)
