I just picked up her book Cry Mercy mostly because of the name. ;)

I liked it, but it seemed like it is the second or later book in a series.  Does anybody read these books? If so, what is the first book?

I've read "Beg for Mercy" and "Angel of Mercy" which are the first and secnd books to the series. "Cry Mercy" is book 3.

I'll have to look for it. I had not realised it was out already!

What are they? Sci fi, urban fantasy, paranormal romance, etc.?

Urban fantasy with a dash of romance. I really enjoyed them.

Mercy is a hypnotherapist and has the ability to make people do what she wants. She usually keeps the power under wraps, except at work, since it's too easy to screw up. It's pretty interesting.

I add to the recommendation- its definitely different from the usual Urban Fantasy fare. And Mercy's abilities is interesting.
