Am I the only one who feels like this may be the last Miles book in the series?
The death of Count Aral and Miles becoming the new Count seems like a logical place to end things.

That seems plausible ..... but no more Miles
??
I have to tell you, when I read the end of Cryoburn, I cried and couldn't stop. And every time I re-read it, I cry again. And then those little snips .... so astute, even in their brevity. Gregor's little section just broke my heart.
I would love to see an Ivan book .... my daughter and I think it's about time he got some long term happiness. We're thinking a streetwise, smart mouthed galactic ..... heck, I have half the thing written in my head!!!!!

That's what she's working on now, is an Ivan book, according to what she says at Baen's Bar. She might go back in Miles' life, but I suspect not, she's writing maturing characters as she matures herself.

It's so odd, but I haven't read Cryoburn yet. I think it's because it's been SO long since I read the last book that I needed to catch up on that one first. Which I haven't done. So it might be a few more months before I can read it. Grr.

I LOVE her books. I fell in love with the Miles series, and it was because of her that I gave fantasy another try. I had read some bad stuff when I first started (too many men with testosterone poisoning running around on horses) and had unfairly written off the genre. But Lois can write any genre and make you a fan. Thanks to her I gave other fantasy another try. And one of authors I found was Patricia Briggs and her Hurog and Raven books.

Cryoburn pocket size paperbacks are out now!
And I was evil... Ms. Bujold commented at her conference of Baen's Bar that she's only about 2 chapters from done with the first full draft, but she doesn't have a title. She hints that there is romantic comedy, as in "A Civil Campaign" so I suggested "Love's Labors Lost."

I was so out of touch with what Lois was up to; I had no idea she was writing Ivan's book. I can't wait.
Cryoburn seemed a bit of a let down. I'm not sure if it was because there was only Miles in it or because I get enough corporate malfeasance in my everyday life and I don't want it in my escapism fiction as well.
She is an amazing author, so even an okay Bujold book beats 99% of books out there.
If you want to read an excerpt from the upcoming Ivan book then check out these links. Some helpful soul transcribed a reading she did that was on youtube.
