Nalini Singh has just announced...
Kiss of Snow will be releasing in hardcover first.
Also, the paperback will be releasing only 6 months after the hardcover, in December.

I'm sure I will probably buy the hardcover because I won't be able to wait, but I think it's fabulous that the paperback is releasing in 6 months, instead of the usual year.  I know of only one other author/series that does that -- JD Robb's In Death series, and I know that in that case, Nora INSISTED upon that schedule when they decided to move her to hardback.  So if Nalini had anything to do with the scheduling, my hat's off to her.  That shows TREMENDOUS respect and concern for her readers.

And the ebook will be out at the same time. That's good; I may break down and get that, even at the more expensive price. I wouldn't buy hardcover, though.

I'm happy for Nalini Singh, that the book will be in hardcover, cause  that means her books sell well and the publisher trusts her to achieve good sales in the future. on the other hand I kind of hate it when books change format (not only because of higher cost, but also because of how it looks on my shelves.) I will def. NOT buy the hardcover, but will wait for the paperback for my shelf. However, I'll of course get the e-book as soon as it is available ;)

I think it'S great that the book will be longer (yayz) and out in June next year!

Hardcover is not a format I like, but I also don't like ebooks.  So...it's either buy the hardcover when it comes out, borrow it from the library (and get it probably 4-8 weeks after it comes out), or wait 6 months for the paperback.

She needs to change her name to Nalini SINGE.  Yowza!  (Although I'll add that this one seems to be the most gratuitous of her covers and actually does the series a bit of a disservice, because to me it gives the impression of a Maya Banks-style erotica novel, rather than the complex sci-fi-esque series that Singh has created.)
