HBO has greenlit a pilot for Game of Thrones- it looks like the pilot script has been leaked which I got the link for. Its great to see more fantasy stuff on the small screen and I cant wait to see this!

I cannot imagine Thrones being a movie.  Not that there's much need for CGI or anything, I just can't picture it.  The multiple layers of plots, the HUGE cast, I worry that they won't be able to get all that information on the screen.  They would have to cull off major sections, tearing apart the story, plot, and scores of characters.

as much as I'd like to see it, I just don't think they could do it justice.

I don't think they're planning a movie for Game of Thrones - I was under the distinct impression it's supposed to be a series.  I could be wrong, though...

It is - I think each book is going to be a season that is what I understand how HBO and Martin and the producers are going to approach it. A bit like True Blood although that looks like it will deviate from the books but keep key characters and plots.

More info and casting on the pilot for Thrones!
I am getting really psyched about this project and I hope HBO really supports this series- it sounds like its going to be EPIC!

OK, it's been YEARS since I read them, but isn't Tyrion supposed to be blond?  Like his sibs.

For some reason, I remember him having dark hair, but it doesn't matter - that's what chemistry is for, to change hair color.  (Okay, I guess it does have a FEW other uses, too.)

I only read part of the first book.  Is this character the  bastard half sib?  The one who got the albino direwolf cub?  That would explain darker hair.

nope, wrong family.  This is the dwarf brother of the the Lancasters.  They're the bad ones who take over the kingdom.

I think he fits perfectly. :>
Still instead of plannign a TV series it would be nice if Martin could continue his writings. I am waiting soo long for the next installment, I've already forgotton half of everything.

Winter Is Coming. Coming this weekend. ;)

HBO is airing the first episode of Game of Thrones. If you haven't heard about it, it's based on the George RR Martin epic series A Story of Fire and Ice.

You can view the trailer here.

I'll be watching. Can't resist the epic fantasy.
