Mr. Mike, don't forget to keep them updated on where to find you so we get to see the vid, eventually!  I wanna see you in your little black hero mask!

Silver bullets revisited
« Reply #17 on: November 10, 2008, 08:20:57 pm »
Been pondering this one a little bit and thought to throw this out there since the other thread is locked.

Firstly, a bullet with the hardness of silver, I wouldn't make Supersonic, but load to be Subsonic. As mentioned the idea is for the bullet to stay inside and not power all the way through. In this case you would load the round with the most accuracy producing amount of powder for a given range. She may be using a .444 Marlin, but she isn't trying to take a deer at range out, but to protect herself from a rampaging werewolf.

Second, I don't think anyone intending on having a weapon loaded for self defense is really planning on shooting at things over 100 yards away. Instead, I think that you go back to the old FBI stats that claim most shooting incidents happen under 25 feet. At which range, your not looking for 3 rounds in a half inch accuracy.

Just my 2 thoughts.
