Title: Ursula Vernon
Post by: Patti L. on February 27, 2014, 11:23:31 am
Huh.
Seems there wasn't a thread for her.
She started in art, and has branched out.
She won a Hugo for "Digger", her webcomic (now available in print either separate volumes or 4 pound omnibus edition) about a wombat, a dead god, and a shadowchild.
She has a series of young readers adventures illustrated by her about "Danny Dragonbreath".
She wrote "Nurk" about a shrew.

She has just posted this:  http://ursulav.livejournal.com/1577908.html

I've seen snips of it in her blog.  There's a paladin whogot a demon in his head and killed a convent full of nuns, and now the rotting remains of the demon are in his mind.

The timing information is a little strange; part 2 was out by the time this published, I've read the "sequel" or part 2 of a doorstop, "The Wonder Engine".  We find out a good bit more about both Slate and Caliban, although no more about Brenner or Learned Edmond's pasts.  Some very interesting stuff about gnoles.
